Pet Names was a featured performer at Meadworks' Thursday night open mic, hosted by Adam Dorius. They enjoyed getting a taste of the local talent (and delicious local mead!), and hearing sets from the other featured performers--Tooky and Bill, and Tall Slow Birch.

A whirlwind, triple-header day! Starting out with an unplugged set at Annmarie Artsfest in Solomons, MD; cruising across the state to Westminster to play at the McDaniel Environmental Center's Solstice Festival; and ending the day back at home in Burtonsville for their residency at Centrado.

It turns out the best porchfest stages are a backyard porch. Pet Names had a blast playing and kicking back in the audience for the "Odd Ducks" porch, hosted by Adam Dorius and Rugan Lewis. Other wonderful acts of the day included Broommaker, Madisun Bailey, and Safety Bear.
Takoma Park Folk Festival

The long-running TPFF is a true feast for the senses. Pet Names enjoyed serenading a hillside of festivalgoers at the Grove Stage and taking in the sights, sounds, and fried oreos.

What a fun New Deal debut! Pet Names joined Ammonite for a Wednesday night Campfire Sessions show, and did their first-ever audience Q&A session after their set.

Pet Names enjoyed an entrancing late-summer evening performing in Zinnia's garden during dinner. The weather was gorgeous, the landscaping was magical--and oh, the dancing!
MoCo Pride Center Grand Opening

MoCo Pride celebrated the opening of the first physical LGBTQIA+ pride center space in Montgomery County, MD with vendors, activities, drag, and live music. Pet Names played for attendees and passers-by on the corner of Edgemoor Lane and Old Georgetown Rd. in the heart of downtown Bethesda. Highlights included stellar ASL interpretation from HOD Interpreting and folks singing along to the Indigo Girls' "Closer to Fine."
This Could Go Boom! Festival

It was an honor to be a part of TCGB!'s inaugural music festival. Camila and Maggie kicked off the music at a bustling festival satellite stage, hosted by Pizzeria Paradiso in Hyattsville, MD.

Maggie and Camila put together a standout bill of queer Americana artists at Pie Shop in DC. Jane O'Neill started things off, Pet Names kept the vibes going, and Ammonite closed out the night. It was a wonderful hotspot of local queer music and community.

Maggie and Camila organized a show at The Pocket, kicking off a bill featuring Sleeping on Saturn and The Orange Slices. Having played with each of the bands at previous Iris Garden Bar showcases, the evening was primed to be a night of excellent rock music--and they definitely delivered.

Pet Names thoroughly enjoyed playing their first-ever porchfest! ANXO / Brightwood Pizza & Bottle were lovely hosts, and the robust crowd enjoying the sunny weather were all kinds of warm.

Pet Names played a 45 minute set, celebrating the release of their debut EP, Hey Hi Hello. For the first time, they played all of the interludes from the EP, adapted and arranged for acoustic duo. It was a wonderful evening of music and community, featuring excellent sets from Teghan Devon, Grimm Winter, We Wear Chucks, and Sleeping on Saturn.

Maggie and Camila laid it all out at Carroll Creek Park in the 98 degree heat! Entertaining a small crowd and passing festival-goers, they enjoyed getting people to groove and sing along to covers by queer artists, and even had a quick learner singing along to their original music!

Camila and Maggie were joined by drummer Julie Kapuvari for an acoustic set. It was an afternoon of beautiful weather and even better music, featuring sets from local acts Ari Voxx, Daisy Road, and Neon Habits. Plus, they got some great shots from photographer Luna Siesko.

Camila and Maggie were joined by drummer Julie Kapuvari for their first electric live set. The trio rocked the house down at Rhizome, sharing the bill with other talented queer artists including Flora and the Fauna, Ella from Lud Roes, and Ammonite.
Olney Days Party in the Park

Maggie and Camila shared their original songs and some covers with a bustling crowd of the Olney community. The well-attended annual event hosted by the Olney Civic Fund was a blast to participate in as performers, and they hope to play again next year!
